The Fama variety was bred by the Danish company Dæhnfeldt and was officially mentioned in lists of breeding achievements between 1970 and 1992. In scientific literature, the variety appears under the name Bangholm Fama, which indicates its belonging to the group of Scandinavian rutabaga varieties.

A detailed agronomic description of the variety, including morphological traits and indicators of disease resistance, is absent in open publications. Currently, under the name Fama, seeds of ornamental crops, such as scabiosa, or carrot hybrids are more frequently encountered on the market.
