The BRIOL variety belongs to the winter oilseed rape crop, although it is also mentioned in a number of scientific works in the context of spring oilseed rape (canola) research. The variety was officially included in variety lists, which confirms its status during the 1990s.
Under field conditions, the variety demonstrates a high level of resistance to white mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum). In available publications, it most often appears as a control or comparative sample in genetic studies, disease resistance tests, and variety identification methodologies.
