The variety belongs to the medium-early category. It forms a primary central head, characterized by apical dominance followed by the ability to produce a yield of lateral inflorescences, which is typical for traditional Italian varieties.

As a variety, not a hybrid, it differs from modern breeding lines in lower head density and variability of characteristics. In scientific circles, it is often used as a classic example of a local Italian genotype for agronomic research.
