The Holandsko pozno variety, also known as Holandsko pozno rdeče, belongs to the group of late-maturing varieties. It has been used for a long time in the production systems of Slovenia and frequently serves as an object of scientific research in the fields of entomology and plant protection.
The high resistance of the variety to damage by pests, such as onion thrips and the cabbage bug, is due to a developed mechanical barrier in the form of a layer of epicuticular wax on the surface of the leaves. The plant also demonstrates a low damage index when exposed to flea beetles.
