The variety is one of the most late-ripening among Savoy cabbages and possesses a high stem. Foliage is abundant, leaves are distinguished by slight blistering, which makes the variety visually similar to white cabbage. A small round head forms late, and in the winter period, the foliage acquires a reddish or purple tint.
The plant is distinguished by high frost resistance and the ability to endure harsh weather conditions, which historically determined its designation for winter consumption. The leaves are characterized by rigidity and an upright position around the head.
