The variety forms heavy, dense heads of flattened shape weighing from 7 to 10 kg. The plant is characterized as hardy and adapted to traditional growing conditions.
The cabbage possesses high frost resistance, withstanding temperatures down to -15°C, however it is demanding regarding soil moisture levels and sensitive to drought. When overripe or during sharp changes in humidity, the heads are prone to cracking.
The primary purpose of the variety is processing, in particular the preparation of sauerkraut, due to its dense texture and flavor qualities. It is also suitable for fresh consumption and for use in stewed dishes.
