Variety description

The plant is an upright, well-branched multi-stemmed shrub 1.5–2 meters in height and width. The foliage is grey-green with a pubescent texture; young leaves have a silvery-grey hue that turns green by mid-summer.
Inflorescences are large panicles 25–30 cm long, consisting of lilac-purple flowers with a yellow center, possessing a sweet musky fragrance. Flowering continues from mid-summer to autumn, sometimes until the first frosts.
The variety is winter hardy (USDA zone 5–9, withstands down to -20°C) and undemanding regarding soil type or pH level. It is used in landscape design for mass plantings, container gardening, and as an accent plant; inflorescences are suitable for cutting.
