The variety is an evergreen dwarf shrub with upright shoots, reaching a height of 20 to 50 cm. The leaves are narrow, needle-like or scale-like. It belongs to the series of bud-flowering heathers, in which the inflorescences do not open for a long time, maintaining a decorative appearance throughout the autumn.
The plant belongs to USDA hardiness zone 7. It prefers sunny areas with acidic, well-drained, and moderately moist soils. It is used in landscape design for creating borders, rock gardens, and mixed borders, and is also suitable for container gardening.
