The Omega variety belongs to spring forms of Camelina sativa. It was bred as part of the breeding work of the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding at the Poznań University of Life Sciences.
The plant is used as an oilseed crop. The oil of this variety is valued for its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, in particular alpha-linolenic acid.
