Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant is a herbaceous perennial with erect, rigid, unbranched stems and narrow lanceolate basal leaves of bright green color. The large cup-shaped or bell-shaped flowers are outward-facing and have a cream-white color with a characteristic bluish or lavender-grey margin.

Flowering of the variety lasts from late spring to mid- or late summer; a second flush is possible if faded inflorescences are removed. The plant prefers well-drained soils and areas with full sun or light partial shade. In regions with hot summers, the variety suffers from high temperatures.

The stems are notable for their strength; however, due to the significant height of the plant, choosing a sheltered planting site may be required. The variety can be susceptible to rust. It is used in ornamental gardening, including container and group plantings, and is also valued as material for cut flowers. The variety is known by the synonym Campanula persicifolia George Chiswell.
