The variety belongs to the jalapeño-type pepper group. Its name is also associated with the agricultural municipality of Ahome in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, where such crops are actively grown.
In 2022 variety trial reports, the variety's produce was classified as second-grade marketable due to insufficient fruit size and a tendency to deform. Detailed agronomic data, such as plant height, maturity dates, or disease resistance, are absent from open publications.
