The bushy, sturdy plant reaches a height of 40–60 cm up to 100 cm or more. The leaves have a dark green shade with purple veins; the flowers are purple. The variety is characterized as mid-season with a ripening period of about 70–80 days after transplanting.
The fruits are conical in shape, 7.5–15 cm long, and are almost black in technical maturity, turning red upon biological ripening. The pungency level varies from 750 to 10 000 Scoville units; the flesh is juicy with a sweetish taste.
The variety is versatile and suitable for decorative cultivation, pickling, fresh consumption, sauce preparation, as well as for frying or stuffing.
