The variety was derived from a traditional paprika pepper population historically grown in the Murcia region. The plant's primary value lies in its use as a source of genetic resistance to pathogens and for studying nutraceutical characteristics, such as vitamin C content.

The plant possesses pronounced resistance to the nematode Meloidogyne incognita, exceeding the performance of other lines.
