The plant is vigorous, bushy, reaches a height of 60–90 cm, and requires staking. The fruits are conical or elongated-conical in shape, with a length of about 10–12 cm. At technical maturity, they are bright green, turning red when fully ripe.
The flesh of the fruits is thin and sweet in taste, without pronounced bitterness, although mildly pungent specimens may occasionally occur. The variety is traditionally used for frying whole.
