The variety belongs to the Serrano type and is considered traditional, often described as a landrace. The fruits are medium-sized, measuring approximately 2.5 inches (5–10 cm) in length. As they ripen, the color of the peppers changes from green to red.
The pungency of the fruits varies in a wide range from 3,000 to 25,000 Scoville Heat Units. The harvest of this variety is traditionally used in cooking, in particular for preparing sauces, salsa, and pickling.
