The plant reaches a height of 150 to 200 cm and forms long, pointed fruits. At the technical ripeness stage, they have a light green color, and upon full maturity, they acquire a bright red color and an almost waxy texture after drying.
The pungency level of the fruits is 5–6 points. In the light green state, they are used for stuffing, breading, and frying, while the ripe fruits are used for preparing kimchi and traditional chili paste.
