The sweet pepper hybrid Machado F1 belongs to the California Wonder type and is characterized by medium plant vigor. The variety has resistance to low temperatures and is intended for cultivation in protected soil or intensive open-field conditions with irrigation.
The fruits have an intense bright red color, high uniformity, and a dry matter content of 7–8% on the Brix scale. Due to thick walls and firmness, the produce is suitable for long-distance transport.
The hybrid possesses high resistance to tobacco mosaic virus (L4, races 0, 1, 2, 3) and intermediate resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV, race P0). In greenhouses, high yields require staking of plants.
