The plant reaches a height of about 90 cm and a width of 45 cm, which allows it to be used for cultivation in containers and small gardens. The fruits have a heart-shaped form, and their length is approximately 16–17 cm.
At technical maturity, the fruits are colored dark green; as they ripen, they acquire a crimson red shade. The taste is characterized as mild with slight pungency; the fruits are suitable for stuffing, baking, drying, and freezing.
