Matga F1 is a California Wonder type pepper with a powerful root system and an open plant structure, which facilitates maintenance. The hybrid possesses high reproductive capacity and consistently sets fruit throughout the entire cycle, including its final stages.
The fruits are characterized by high uniformity in size and shape, changing color from dark green at technical maturity to bright red at biological maturity. They are distinguished by thick walls, good keeping quality, resistance to transport, and the absence of susceptibility to the physiological defect 'silvering'.
The variety has high resistance (HR) to Tobacco mosaic virus (Tm: 0-3) and intermediate resistance (IR) to Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV 0) and powdery mildew (Lt). Intended for commercial cultivation for the fresh market.
