The 'Sky Rocket' variety is a variegated ornamental grass forming vase-shaped clumps 60 to 120 cm in height. The plant's leaves retain a white margin throughout the season. Paniculate inflorescences have a smoky-pink hue upon opening, gradually changing to cream as they mature.
The plant is characterized as thermophilic, drought- and heat-tolerant, but lacks frost resistance, which is why it is grown as an annual in regions with cold climates. 'Sky Rocket' is used in flower beds, borders, and container compositions as an accent element.
From a botanical perspective, the variety is classified as Cenchrus advena, although the synonym Pennisetum advena is found in literature. The plant has vigorous growth and, unlike some related invasive species, is considered less aggressive toward the environment.
