Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a dense, wide-rounded, heavily branched shrub 90–120 cm tall, sometimes reaching 150 cm. The plant does not produce fruit. The branches have no thorns, which is a characteristic feature of the Double Take series.

Flowering occurs in early spring on the previous year's shoots before the leaves appear. The flowers are double, up to 5 cm in diameter, bright scarlet in color, and resemble a camellia in shape. Under favorable conditions, repeat flowering is possible during the summer period.

The shrub is frost-resistant down to -25°C, however, early spring frosts can damage the buds. The plant is drought-tolerant after rooting and adapts to different soil types, including heavy clay, but is sensitive to highly alkaline soils, which provoke chlorosis.
