The variety was developed as a result of breeding work at the University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz. In vitro methods were used to create the plant, including the irradiation of explants to obtain induced mutations.
In scientific literature, the variety is widely represented as a model organism for biotechnological experiments. Specifically, research on micropropagation is conducted using UTP Pinky Gold, the response to the effects of nanoparticles in nutrient media is studied, and biochemical profiles under various cultivation methods are analyzed.
