The variety was bred by irradiating whole inflorescences with high-energy photons followed by in vitro regeneration of ovary explants. It is an inflorescence shape mutant.
A distinctive morphological feature of the plant is the unusual shape of the ray florets, which look like tubes with "ragged" edges. The variety was created within the framework of a research program to enrich the assortment of ornamental plants.
