The variety belongs to the Kabuli type with beige seeds and is intended for human consumption. It was identified as a local traditional variety for the conservation of genetic diversity, originating from the Alentejo and Ribatejo regions.

The plant possesses high adaptability to the climatic conditions of Portugal, including temperature fluctuations and rainfall patterns. The variety is characterized by high resistance to fungal diseases, such as Ascochyta blight and Fusarium wilt, as well as high protein content that is maintained after thermal processing.
