The De Saint-Laurent variety belongs to the curly endive group and forms a large leaf rosette reaching 40 cm in diameter. The plant forms a distinct core, which is easily blanched, allowing for the production of more tender leaves with a less pronounced bitter taste.
The plant is intended for cultivation in the summer and autumn periods; sowing is recommended from March to July for harvest from June to November. The variety is characterized by high endurance and in its properties is close to the Chicorée frisée de Ruffec type.
