The Jaz variety is a form of chicory grown for the production of etiolated shoots. Information about it as a commercial agricultural variety is absent in agronomic publications and commercial catalogs.

The name Jaz appears in technical documentation for Distinctness, Uniformity, and Stability (DUS) testing of varieties, as well as in molecular genetic studies for assessing the homogeneity of F1 hybrids. Morphological characteristics and data on economic suitability are not presented in open sources.
