The variety is remontant, blooming and fruiting throughout the year. In pot cultivation, the plant reaches a height of 0.5–1.5 m and forms a dense spherical crown with an ascending growth habit. The crop is characterized as hardy and high-yielding.
The fruits have a rounded, slightly flattened shape with a characteristic nipple. The peel is thin and smooth, containing essential oils with a bergamot aroma. The flesh is yellowish-green, juicy, with low acid content, and is characterized as bittersweet.
The plant is used for ornamental purposes, as well as a fruit-bearing crop for fresh consumption and culinary use. It is believed to be a hybrid of citron and bitter orange, known in Italy since the 17th century.
