The variety belongs to a small-flowered group and is characterized by medium vigor compared to other trifoliate forms. The fruits ripen in December–January, are inedible due to their sour and bitter taste, and are used for breeding purposes.
Seedlings of the variety show resistance to gummosis and the citrus tristeza virus, and also demonstrate tolerance to water deficit. The variety is used as a standardized rootstock that provides good compatibility with commercial citrus varieties and as genetic material for the creation of citranges.
