The variety is a hybrid obtained as a result of bud irradiation of the Moncada variety, which originates from a cross between Oroval clementine and Kara mandarin. Trees are characterized by medium to high vigor and are capable of reaching heights of up to 3 meters in open field cultivation.
Fruits weighing 120–140 g have a thin dark-orange peel and dark-orange flesh. The variety is self-incompatible, and harvest takes place in January and February. Fruits are characterized by a high juice content (55–58%), a good sugar-acid balance, and are suitable for cold storage.
The plant is resistant to the fungus Alternaria and possesses good cold hardiness. Fruits hold well on the branches after ripening. Yields can be biennial in nature, which requires pruning and fruit thinning.
