Variety description

The variety belongs to the Clematis florida group. The plant is characterized by moderate vigor, reaching a height of 2.5–3 meters with a bush width of about 1 meter. The foliage is light green, compound, and ternate; the variety is semi-evergreen and may retain part of its foliage in winter in mild climates.
The flowers, 6–10 cm in diameter, have a unique shape: 6 creamy-white outer sepals and a spectacular dome-shaped center of purple staminodes with cream-colored specks. Abundant flowering occurs from mid-summer to autumn. The variety belongs to pruning group 3, which requires hard pruning of the stems in spring.
The plant is winter hardy, but planting in sheltered locations is recommended. In harsh climates, winter protection may be required. Like other members of the genus, the plant may be moderately toxic if ingested and may cause skin irritation upon contact.
