The variety «Zhalt Hadzhiyski» is the earliest among the studied Bulgarian Cornus mas varieties, with the fruit ripening period occurring from July 15–20. The fruits have a yellow color and an average weight of about 3.64 g, which is comparable to the indicators of wild-growing forms. Fruit ripening occurs synchronously.

The chemical composition of the variety's fruits is characterized by a high total sugar content of 7.68%. The fruits are versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption after a short period of post-harvest ripening, as well as for processing.
