The variety is of eastern origin and is historically associated with the vicinity of the city of Trapezund. The bush is vigorous, with an open crown, sometimes exhibiting a weeping growth habit. The leaves are large, elliptical or oval in shape.

The husk is light green in color, consists of two leaflets, is significantly longer than the nut, fits tightly around it, and is covered with stiff hairs. The nuts are of medium size, narrow-elliptical or narrow-ovate in shape. The plant is characterized by early ripening and resistance to low temperatures.

The variety is used in commercial plantations and amateur gardening, and can also serve as a pollinator. It should be noted that the original variety differs from modern forms sold under the name «Трапезунд».
