The variety is a shrub with inconsistent data regarding growth vigor, but a pronounced ability to produce root suckers. The plant's fruits are large, often single or gathered in small clusters, possess a thick shell, average fat content, and a kernel yield of about 35 percent.

The plant is characterized by sufficient resistance to low temperatures, but is susceptible to diseases typical for the crop. Pollinators are required to ensure productivity. Modern forms sold under the name "Трапезунд" may differ significantly from the original historical variety.
