The Romanian cucumber variety «Favorit» was developed at the Research and Development Station for Vegetable Growing in Buzău under the leadership of Costel Vânătoru. It is mentioned in scientific reports and the author's publication lists, however, detailed agronomic characteristics of this specific variety are absent in open publications.

There is also a cucumber variety «Фаворит» bred by the Pridnestrovian Research Institute of Agriculture. This plant is characterized by medium-length vines, and its fruits reach 9–11 cm in length. In addition, various hybrids under this name, intended for pickling and canning, are available on the market.
