The plant is vining and belongs to the Hokkaido (Kabocha) type. The growing season is 90–100 days from emergence or about 50 days after fruit set.
The fruits are top-shaped and slightly flattened. At the stage of technical maturity, they are green with white stripes, turning red-orange when ripe. The average fruit weight varies from 0.5 to 1.2 kg.
The flesh is dense and floury, with a sweet taste and nutty-chestnut notes. The squash is intended for culinary use as a portion-sized fruit and can also serve decorative purposes.
