The Pegaso variety is a clone of Cupressus glabra. The plant possesses open branching and a wide crown, which distinguishes it from the narrow columnar forms of Cupressus sempervirens.

The main characteristic of the variety is high resistance to the fungal disease cypress canker, caused by the pathogen Seiridium cardinale. Due to its morphological traits and biological resistance, the variety is recommended for use as windbreaks and protective plantations.
