Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Cupressus macrocarpa × Cupressus nootkatensis. The plant has a columnar crown and dense bright green foliage. In 10 years, the tree is capable of reaching a height of 8 meters.

Propagated exclusively vegetatively by cuttings. The variety is considered winter hardy and tolerates wind and snow loads well, however, under certain conditions, it may show sensitivity to drought.

There are two forms of the variety: «Stapehill 20» and «Stapehill 21». The former is characterized by higher quality foliage, while «Stapehill 21», also known as «Ferndown», is less resistant to moisture deficiency.
