Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince

The fruits of this biotype are smaller than those of other local varieties, have an asymmetric shape with a short 'neck' and weakly expressed ribs at the base. The variety belongs to the medium maturity group; the fruits ripen from the third decade of September to the beginning of October, with average productivity.
The biotype is of interest for the conservation of local biodiversity and the study of the epiphytic microbiota of the fruits. In particular, yeasts from the surface of the quince are considered as potential starter cultures for fermentation, for example, in cider production.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
