In agronomic literature, Adam's is classified as a clonal quince rootstock used in pomology for growing pears. This rootstock is not intended for fruit production and lacks the characteristics of a fruit variety.

Grafting pear varieties onto the Adam's rootstock contributes to reducing tree vigor, accelerates the onset of fruiting, and increases yield efficiency. Scientific studies note that trees on this rootstock demonstrate high cumulative yields, although for some combinations with pear varieties, incompatibility at the graft union is possible.
