The rootstock belongs to the semi-dwarfing group and reduces the growth vigor of grafted pear varieties by 30% compared to seedling rootstocks. The root system has high winter hardiness down to -27°C in the absence of snow cover and is well-adapted to soils with a high calcium content.

The plant demonstrates high resistance to leaf spot and moderate resistance to fire blight. When using BA 29, trees enter fruit-bearing in the 3-4th year, while the fruits are distinguished by improved coloration and increased weight. Use of support is recommended for young trees.
