The variety was bred from selection material selected in a winter hardiness nursery in Alberta, Canada. The plant is characterized by high growth vigor, intensive seedling development, and the ability to regrow rapidly after grazing or mowing.
Due to its late maturity, the variety combines optimally with alfalfa and clover. Extend demonstrates high adaptability, is suitable for both intensive rotational grazing and haymaking, and responds well to irrigation.
