The variety was obtained by the method of selection from a wild ecotype discovered in the Kaliningrad region. The plant reaches a height of 94–97 cm, and the length of the inflorescences is about 14.25 cm. The leaf mass accounts for 44.6% of the total plant mass.
The variety is characterized as mid-early, heading 4 days later than early varieties. It is distinguished by good winter hardiness, rapid regrowth in spring and after mowing, as well as low susceptibility to leaf diseases. The dry matter yield is 9.29 t/ha.
The crop is forage and can be used in grass mixtures. The plant biomass is also suitable for use as a source of renewable energy for biofuel production.
