The variety is a compact, dense, broad-shrub deciduous shrub reaching a height of 0.5–0.7 m and a width of about 1–1.2 m. The plant has small pinnate leaves of a dark green or gray-green color.
The flowers are bright orange-red with a yellow underside and are prone to fading in the sun to an orange shade. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness down to -45°C, resistance to verticillium wilt, and drought tolerance after rooting. It prefers well-drained substrates and tolerates poor soils.
