The plant has a trailing habit and forms a dense carpet of fleshy leaves. The flowers are large, orange in color with pink tips and a lemon-yellow center, opening in the middle of the day and closing at night. The flowering period lasts from spring until the end of summer.

The variety is resistant to heat, drought, and light frosts, adapted to USDA hardiness zones 5a–9b. It is used in container gardening, for edging, rock gardens, and soil erosion control. In professional manuals, it is classified as a hybrid form, often found under the trade name Ocean Sunset™ Orange Glow.
