The Stagiten variety, also known by the trade name Pink Gypsy, is a hybrid of Dianthus barbatus and Dianthus superbus. The flowers have a lilac color, corresponding to the RHS 74B color code, and a distinct fragrance.
The plant has flowers with a flat corolla profile and serrated petal edges. The buds are cylindrical in shape, the calyx consists of 5 flat lobes, and the ovary is columnar with pigmented styles of medium length.
