The variety is a compact shrub with a dense crown. Plant height varies from 10–15 to 30–40 cm with a bush width of up to 60 cm. The leaves are small, oval or lanceolate, dark green with white spots or margins, with new growth potentially being almost white in color.
The plant possesses adventitious roots that allow it to attach to vertical surfaces, such as walls or stones. The variety exhibits winter hardiness down to -15 °C; in conditions of severe or snowless winters, covering or mulching is required.
Silverstone is used in landscape design as a ground cover plant, for container gardening, rock garden decoration, creating the foreground of mixed borders, as well as for low hedges and borders.
