The KIS Doris variety is used in scientific experiments to evaluate weed control potential and to study grain composition, which is characterized by a very low mycotoxin content. Research covers agro-ecological indicators, including canopy light transmission, which allows for the assessment of crop competitiveness.

Morphological data for the variety are limited to private observations; specifically, a smaller number of leaves on plants compared to other accessions was noted. The variety is associated with the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, which acts as the research center working with this material.
