The Hazel variety is a Festulolium hybrid and does not belong to the pure species of tall fescue. In studies, it demonstrated better palatability for livestock, particularly sheep, compared to the tall fescue varieties Festal and Kentucky 31, both in fresh form and as hay.

The name Hazel is also commonly used for the hazelnut plant, which can lead to confusion. Official data on specific agronomic characteristics, such as height or maturity group for this variety, are not available in open sources.
