The Houndog series of varieties consists of turf-type tall fescue intended for sports fields, parks, and home gardens. The plants have a bunch-type growth habit and form dense turf with a fine leaf texture of dark green color.

The varieties in the group are distinguished by high tolerance to drought, heat, humidity, and brown patch. The Neotyphodium endophyte content is over 80 percent, which provides natural protection against pests and increases stress tolerance. The height of mature plants varies between 69 and 103 centimeters.
