The variety is intended for creating high-quality grass covers that maintain an attractive appearance in hot and humid climate conditions. It belongs to the turf type, which is characterized by a short, dense habit and a finer leaf texture compared to forage varieties.

The plant has excellent turf quality and high density. The variety shows resistance to diseases such as brown patch caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium root rot. Due to its characteristics, Hudson is often used as a parent line in the breeding of new turfgrass varieties.
